What is The Lenawee United Way & Volunteer Center?

A county-wide effort to address health and human service needs.

Through a volunteer system, United Way brings together all types of individuals, businesses, and organizations in a united, grassroots approach. Beyond the role of fund raiser, Lenawee United Way operates a Volunteer Center, provides information and referral to community services, participates in community coalitions and planning, acts as a resource to agencies, and conducts county-wide demographic research and needs assessment.

People helping people

Over 100 organizations are being funded to assist 30,000 of our neighbors. Children, teens, adults, and senior citizens from all economic, social, and ethnic groups are receiving preschool education, CPR training, child abuse prevention, hospice care, and more. Many services teach people how to help themselves and others.

Local

Volunteer and financial resources are gathered to benefit the Lenawee County community. Over 99% of the dollars raised remain in Lenawee County.

A resource for volunteering

Services include:
Building public awareness about the importance of volunteerism
Recruiting and referring volunteers to nonprofits that address community needs
Recognizing volunteers
Providing resources and training for volunteer coordinators

Accountable

The Lenawee United Way and Volunteer Center is governed by a local Board of Directors who assure accountability to our community. The Community Impact Committee assures that all funded agencies are fiscally sound and well-managed.

Comprehensive

Through one gift, contributors can support a variety of vital services. The united campaign is a more efficient means to raise money for many organizations at one time.

Your gift to Lenawee United Way helps our neighbors and changes lives.
